Positive weekend at the Nürburgring for Riccardo Ianniello in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe
It was an intense and hard-fought weekend, full of positive takeaways, for Riccardo Ianniello, who returned to the international stage of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. On the legendary Nürburgring circuit, the young Italian driver defended the colors of Vincenzo Sospiri Racing at the wheel of the Huracán ST Evo2, showing both competitiveness and maturity across both races.
Race 1 saw Ianniello deliver a particularly strong stint: starting with determination, he maintained a solid and consistent pace, managing traffic effectively and keeping close to the leading pack. After the driver change, his teammate Putera carried on the fight, with the pair finishing in fourth place, just shy of the podium and battling until the very last laps.
In Race 2, the challenge was even tougher: starting from P17, Ianniello showed grit and composure, carving through the field with a steady recovery that saw him climb up to sixth place at the flag. A performance full of character, underlining his race pace and his ability to respond even in the most demanding conditions.
“It was a positive weekend for me,” commented Riccardo Ianniello.
“In Race 1 my stint went really well and together with my teammate we came very close to the podium. In Race 2 we started from far back, but with good pace we managed to climb up to P6. I’d say it was a positive return to European competition and I’m satisfied. I want to thank VSR for the opportunity and all those who support me: weekends like this are essential to grow and keep improving.”
The Nürburgring weekend thus marked a solid return to European competition for Ianniello, with convincing performances that further strengthen his path of growth. An experience that adds another important milestone to his young career, fueling both confidence and momentum ahead of the next challenges of the season.
