RICCARDO IANNIELLO KICKS OFF GT SPRINT SEASON WITH A PODIUM AT VALLELUNGA

A strong and promising start to the 2025 Italian GT Sprint Championship for Riccardo Ianniello, who claimed a podium finish in Race 1 and a Top 5 result in Race 2 at his home track in Vallelunga.

Driving the Lamborghini Huracán ST Evo2 fielded by DL Racing and sharing the wheel with teammate Vittorio Viglietti in the competitive GT Cup Pro-Am class, the young Roman talent made an immediate impact by securing pole position in Qualifying 1. In Race 1, Ianniello and Viglietti delivered a clean and consistent performance, finishing second overall and stepping onto the podium in their season debut.

In Race 2, the pair faced a more challenging scenario due to the +12 second handicap at the pit stop, imposed by regulations following their podium finish in Race 1. Despite that, they managed to secure a solid P5, confirming strong pace and strategic consistency throughout the race.

“It’s been a really positive weekend,” said Riccardo Ianniello.
“Starting from pole and finishing P2 in Race 1 was the best way to begin the season, especially here at my home track. Race 2 was tougher with the handicap time, but we stayed focused and brought home important points. Great teamwork all around – we’re definitely on the right path.”

With a solid foundation now in place, Ianniello is already looking ahead to the next round of the championship, set for July 11–13 at Mugello.
